Basic vs Premium Amazon A+ Content: Design Planning Guide

Desprot Design · · A+ Content

Compare Basic and Premium Amazon A+ Content, understand the role of Brand Story, and plan useful modules before starting your design.

Amazon A+ Content gives eligible brands more ways to explain their products on the product detail page. The right design plan depends on the information shoppers need and the modules available in your account—not simply on choosing the most elaborate layout.

Understand the available formats

Basic A+ uses combinations of text and images, including comparison modules. Premium A+ adds richer formats such as video, interactive hotspots and carousels. Brand Story provides a separate space for brand history, values and product lines. Check current eligibility and module availability in your own A+ Content Manager before commissioning assets. Amazon’s official A+ Content guide explains these formats.

Build a content outline before a visual layout

Start with a short list of unanswered questions from the main listing. Assign a module to each important question. If your product has several variants, a comparison may help organize the differences. If a feature is easier to demonstrate than describe, consider whether a video is available and appropriate.

Our design recommendation is to make every module earn its place. Avoid repeating the same benefit in a banner, a paragraph and a comparison without adding useful information. A shorter, coherent sequence can be easier to maintain than a long page of repeated claims.

Prepare separate asset and copy lists

For each planned module, record the image needed, the product fact it supports and the copy owner. Use current packaging and approved specifications. Decide which text belongs in editable module fields and which labels, if any, need to be part of an illustration.

Review the mobile layout before finalizing assets. Check that the reading order still makes sense, essential details remain readable and important information is not lost when images are resized.

Choose based on the content you can support

Premium formats create more production choices, but they also require suitable assets and a clear purpose. If you lack a useful demonstration or a meaningful comparison, adding an interactive module will not resolve the missing message. Plan the story first, then choose the format that presents it clearly.
